How to use the Usage Calculator:
- Enter the cost of electricity in dollars per kWh.
- Enter the number of weeks a year the compressor is operated.
- Fill in the below table with the following:
- The name of the machine whose usage is being calculated.
- The number of this type of machine in use.
- The number of hours per week these machines are operated.
- The CFM required per machine.
- Push the Do Calculations button, and the calculator will give you your total.
A small disclaimer: this cost is only theoretical--it assumes that there are no leaks at all in your system.
However, it should be a pretty good starting point for estimating your minimum cost to operate your compressed air system.
